GET READY

Our geographical location, climate change, and Puerto Rico's sociopolitical situation played a key role in the response, recovery and reconstruction process after hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017. During that hard state -that we are still fighting to overcome as a country- the lack of guarantees from local and federal governments were evident, so the communities took charge to ensure collective survival in areas such as nourishment, health, water, and housing, among others.

From what we learned it was clear the need to have organized processes, and that's why the Guide of Community Protection for Emergency Situations was born. The Guide explains in simple language, through illustrated cards, what's needed to prepare for emergencies, and it includes tips, materials, and actions to take before, during and after the hurricane.

This Guide was produced in water-resistant material, lightweight and easy to transport.
