Tania Rosario Méndez

Executive Director

Holds a Master's Degree in Public Health, with more than 15 years of experience leading community organizing and mobilization efforts in Loíza and other municipalities in Puerto Rico. She also has a baccalaureate in theater and has a solid track record in the use of community theater and popular education as a means to self-knowledge, healing and social transformation.

Damaris Peña de Jesus

Administrative Assistant

Holds a Master's Degree in Health Information Management and Baccalaureate in Management of Office Systems. She has 7 years of experience in Taller Salud.

Yamara Rodríguez Burgos

Finance Director

Holds bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting. 15 years of experience as a business consultant, manager and design of operating systems in administration.

Amber Lee Velez Burr

Communications Director

Journalist and strategic communication consultant. She worked for Puerto Rico's main newspaper, El Nuevo Día and also worked for different radio stations as a reporter and producer for the past 13 years. Until December 2016, she was a spokesperson for the Justice Department in Public Relations. She is an expert in strategic communication as well as a collaborator of non-profit organizations. She holds a Master's Degree in Communication and Culture and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico.

Lourdes Inoa Monegro

Director of the Tu Paz Cuenta Program and Senior Facilitator

Holds a Master's degree in Public Health and a bachelor's degree in Political Science. She has 9 years of experience with marginalized women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She has been the facilitator of the program, working with young and adult women of Loíza in Taller Salud since 2010. Her specialty is working political activism through popular education.

Aida Judith Edwards

In charge of Community Outreach and the Tu Paz Cuenta Program

Local leader of the black community, based on faith and trained in community health and conflict mediator. She has facilitated Taller Salud's parent education program. She has also worked for 4 years around the community scope of Taller Salud in the Municipality of Loíza.

Karla Hernández

Clinical Psychologist of the Tu Paz Cuenta Program

Psychologist with 6 years of practice in psychotherapy with children, adolescents and adults. She has 2 years of internship in a help center for victims of sexual abuse and survivors of domestic violence.

Haydeé López

Clinical Psychologist of the Tu Paz Cuenta Program

Psychologist with 5 years of experience working in individual and family therapy. She specializes in working with children and young people in different areas, including suicide prevention, sex education and the management of emotions and violence.

Zinnia Alejandro

Director of the Peace Agreement Program and Community Outreach Coordinator of the Tu Paz Cuenta Program

Local leader of the black community. She has worked as mediator of conflicts and for 6 years, has worked in Taller Salud coordinating the violence interruption efforts of the Peace Agreement Program. She has 2 years of experience providing educational services to surviving children of domestic violence. She has one year of experience as coordinator of community participation and community outreach of Tu Paz Cuenta.

Samuel Osorio

Conflict Mediator and Conflict Response

Trained as a conflict mediator. He has been working at Taller Salud for 5 years, working locally in Loíza with at-risk youth. Responds to community conflicts and refers community members to the services of the organization.

Brenda Fuentes

Community Outreach of the Peace Agreement Program

She has 3 years at Taller Salud working locally in Loíza with at-risk youth. Responds to community conflicts and refers community members to the services of the organization.

Scherezada Fuentes

Community Outreach of the Peace Agreement Program

She has 3 years in Taller Salud working as a mentor and case manager with young people at risk in Loíza.

Jenifer de Jesús

Program and Organization Director

Artist and transdisciplinary educator with 17 years of experience in community projects of young people and women of the culture of peace.

Modesta Irirzarry

Community Organizer

Leader of the local religious community with more than 20 years of experience in community organization.

Grace Blanco

Community Organizer

She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work, specialized in community organization from the University of Puerto Rico. Their experiences and contexts have guided their work towards the construction of social and economic justice through popular education and grassroots organization.

Roberto Fernandez

Clinical Psychologist and Senior Facilitator

Holds a master's degree in Psychology, with more than 25 years of experience offering psychological services in community settings. In Taller Salud he has provided therapeutic services to adolescents, adult men and women for the traumas related to domestic violence, sexual aggression and community violence. He currently represents the personnel before the Board of Directors of Taller Salud.

Michel Collado Toro

Facilitator of Sexual and Reproductive Education

Artist and activist with more than 10 years of experience using art strategies and popular education to mobilize communities around issues related to gender and social and economic inequality.

Liza Morales

Director of the Juntos Sanamos Program

Holds master’s degree in Public Health and is currently a college professor with more than thirteen years of experience in the design and implementation of community health projects and school development in Puerto Rico, Guatemala and Haiti. She also has eight years of experience as an educator for peace. She is a researcher and NGO consultant.
